"To me, a dream is the open door to creation: Dreaming then, becomes essential for an artist".
However, paintful events in life can shut off the part of dream inside us. A heavy open-heart surgery in 2007 turned the life of Jean-Louis into a world of suffering. "My dreaming ability was affected. I thought it was forever turned off. Months went on this way..."
And then came cherry blossom time. A few cherries laying on my workshop desk to look at... the simplicity and purity of this fruit suddenly filled me up with all kind of emotion : its red color, so warm, recalling blood, a fragile life fleeting like the cherry blossoms, its shapes so pure following the human being curves...
Cherries bringing springtide...cherries to eat not for hunger but for greed, for pleasure only...
Slowly, very slowly, thanks to the cherries, the dream came into my life again.
This is why I choose the cherries to become my Symbol of Life: a part of all my new creations from now on, I make it my second signature...
The artist has sold sculptures in many countries, including the USA, Russia, Canada and China. Also in practically all European countries; Scandinavia Eastern Europe as well as Australia, Lebanon and Asia (Indonesia, Thailand, Hong Kong and Taiwan).
